Barcelona: Must-Do Guide - A Trip to Barcelona

A 4-Day Trip to Barcelona!

Hello dear friends! I've been away for a while, exploring many new destinations, and now it's time to share the wonderful memories from my travels with you!

I am eager to share my Barcelona trip with you. This city is so enchanting that you lose track of time while wandering its streets.

Here's what you must do, see, and taste in Barcelona:

As soon as I arrive in the city, I quickly check into my hotel because I don't want to miss a single moment; I want to savor every minute I spend here.

Luckily, the room I booked had a small kitchen, so I rushed to a supermarket to quickly explore Barcelona and to stock up my fridge.

After dropping off my purchases in the room and a brief preparation, I set out to do one of the must-do activities here: I'm going on a tapas tour.

Our evening spot is set!

For a nice cocktail, I head to Down Jones, the famous stock market bar here! I enjoy sipping on a Cosmopolitan whose price drops, and for some light snacks, I find myself at Casa Alfonso Restaurant, which was truly one of the most special places I've been to...

This is how I ended my first day in Barcelona.

On the second day, I have Park Guell on my agenda, followed by exploring various parts of the city.

Yes, the second day in Barcelona started off enjoyably. After shaking off the travel fatigue, I hit the road early for Park Güell.

Park Güell is essentially an open-air museum showcasing Gaudi's harmony of nature with human creativity. Originally started as a residential project for Eusebi Güell, it's now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The colorful mosaics within the park reflect Gaudi's innovative approach to architecture and landscape design. Among the park's most famous parts are the undulating benches, the hall of 86 columns, and the lizard statue - it's impossible not to be enchanted here!

After spending a considerable amount of time in Park Güell, I decide to take a leisurely tour around the city, stopping for drinks at places that catch my eye along the way. You can see some of the photos that caught my lens below.

I truly decide that Barcelona is one of the places that must be seen! Every detail is so beautiful...

The days here are passing wonderfully - how quickly we've reached the third day!

Today's plan includes experiencing that famous Churros right where it's best! Early in the morning, I set out with a map in hand to find the place in the city that makes the best Churros...

Of course, I find it; here is the address for the tastiest Churros in Barcelona - Xurreria!

Now that I've had something sweet to eat, it's time for one of the most important places to see here, the Sagrada Familia!

Gaudi's most famous and probably most magnificent work. This grand basilica, whose construction began in 1882 and is still ongoing, is an expression of Gaudi's understanding of faith, nature, and art. The play of light inside the structure, architectural details inspired by organic forms found in nature, and the spiritual depth you feel in every corner, despite it not being completed, are among the main reasons to visit Sagrada Familia. A reminder: I recommend you get your tickets in advance.

Another surprise of tonight was Flamenco, the dance that reflects the fiery spirit of Spain. I wasn't planning on returning home without seeing it, and that's exactly what happened!

In Barcelona's nightlife, the flamenco night you experience at Tarantos in Plaça Reial envelops you in the magic of dance and music; this dance is not just a visual spectacle but an emotional journey!

On my last day in Barcelona, I make my way to that famous market, Mercat Santa Catarina. After spending some good time there, I head towards the beachfront. I need to both explore this side and conclude my trip to Barcelona with some Paella and Sangria at one of the city's most famous restaurants.

  1. Discover the works of Gaudí

  2. Take a Walk on La Rambla

  3. Explore the Gothic Quarter

  4. Tapas Tour: An Experience Full of Flavor

  5. Flamenco Night

Barcelona, for me, is not just a city; it's a treasure trove of culture! I've explored, seen, and savored every moment. In this post, I want to share the things you absolutely must not miss when visiting Barcelona. Here are some key points not to forget as you embark on discovering this wonderful city:

1. Explore Gaudi's Works

First off, leaving Barcelona without experiencing the impact of Gaudi's works is unthinkable! Visiting the Sagrada Familia was one of the most memorable moments of my trip. With its towering spires and intricate design, it's impossible not to be captivated. Remember to book your tickets in advance to avoid long queues.

Park Güell will enchant you with its colorful mosaics and unique structures. My walk there was a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the city's beauty. Exploring other Gaudi buildings like Casa Batlló and Casa Milà is an experience not to be missed.

2. Stroll Down La Rambla

La Rambla is a bustling pedestrian street at the heart of Barcelona. Walking here, encountering street artists is delightful. The Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria Market is a spectacle of colors and fresh foods! Don't miss tasting the local produce while enjoying a fresh fruit juice.

3. Explore the Gothic Quarter

Exploring the Gothic Quarter felt like traveling through time. It's packed with narrow streets, historic buildings, and a warm atmosphere. Make sure to see the Barcelona Cathedral for its stunning architecture. The Picasso Museum is another must-visit spot.

4. Relax at the Beach

Don't forget to head to Barceloneta Beach to soak up some sun. No need to fear falling off a boat; it's a wonderful place to relax and swim. Enjoy local flavors at nearby restaurants or treat yourself with a refreshing drink.

5. Tapas Tour: A Flavorful Experience

Eating in Barcelona is one of the most enjoyable parts of the trip! One of my favorite experiences was hopping from tapas bar to tapas bar, savoring the flavors. Tasting iconic tapas like Patatas bravas and Jamón Ibérico while chatting with locals felt like tasting pieces of Spanish culture!

And not to forget, churros! Served with hot chocolate, this sweet treat is perfect at any time of the day. Indulge when you feel like pampering yourself!

6. Flamenco Night

Experiencing the passionate flamenco dance at Tarantos in Plaça Reial was one of the highlights of my trip. The dazzling costumes, energetic rhythms, and the backdrop of dinner made it unforgettable. Feeling the magic of flamenco is essential, so don't forget to make a reservation.
